More then thirty years of debate, and the controversy remains as polarised as ever. This website (to be fair - whose maintainer is anti-nuclear) collects news about nuclear power in Europe, sorted by nuclear power plant, type of power plant, country etc.
By presenting different (media) angles on current nuclear issues, we hope to be able to cut out some spin, either pro or against, and to allow the reader to make up his or her own mind about today's pro's and con's of nuclear power.

A public company in charge of its construction at the same time reassured that the facility was built "according to EU standards".
The site is now awaiting a permanent permission to operate.
Fire shuts down Swedish nuclear reactor
Monday, October 24, 2011The nuclear reactor at Oskarshamn was closed down late on Saturday night after a fire broke out at the plant.
Although the fire, which broke out in the turbine hall of Unit 2, was quickly put out by the plant’s own emergency services, the reactor and the turbine were closed down as a precautionary measure.
It is still unclear when the reactor 2 can be restarted again, with investigations ongoing.
Areva unions fear up to 4,000 job losses in review -paper
Friday, October 21, 2011PARIS Oct 21 (Reuters) - Unions at Areva Areva fear up to 4,000 staff, or 10 percent, will lose their jobs in a strategic review of the French nuclear reactor to be presented by CEO Luc Oursel in mid-December, Le Figaro newspaper said without citing sources.
Earlier this month, Areva said it was reviewing its investments, and may postpone some, after the Fukushima nuclear disaster in March impacted decisions on nuclear investments worldwide.
RWE weighs up sale for UK co-owned Urenco

Swedish waste fees rise to reflect repository cost
Sunday, October 16, 2011The Swedish Radiation Safety Authority (SSM) has recommended a tripling of the fee paid by the country's nuclear power industry towards paying for management of the country's nuclear waste.
SSM has been tasked with assessing what level of fee Sweden's nuclear generators should be required to pay into the country's Nuclear Waste Fund for the next three years. Basing its assessment on information gathered from the relevant organisations - including cost estimates from the Swedish Nuclear Fuel and Waste Management Co (SKB) - SSM has recommended to the government that the fee should be set at 3 öre per kWh of nuclear electricity produced. The current level is 1 öre per kWh. (1 öre is worth approximately $0.001.)
Polish workers at Olkiluoto earning slave wages
Sunday, October 16, 2011Evidence has come to light suggesting that cheap labour is being employed at the construction site of the Olkiluoto 3 nuclear power plant on the Finnish west coast. At worst, some Polish workers are paid less than two euros an hour.
A Polish electrician who wishes to remain anonymous told YLE that the dearth of jobs in his home country drove him to seek work at Olkiluoto. The man says it took him some time to realise he was being short-changed.
Olkiluoto 3 nuke plant may be delayed further -TVO
Sunday, October 16, 2011HELSINKI/PARIS, Oct 12 (Reuters) - Finnish utility firm Teollisuuden Voima (TVO) blamed supplier Areva for further delays to the construction of its Olkiluoto 3 nuclear power plant which may further push back operations to 2014.
The 1,600 megawatt plant Olkiluoto 3, Finland's fifth nuclear reactor, was originally scheduled to start operations in 2009 but delays and soaring costs meant TVO revised its start date to 2013.
