Temelin, Oct 26 (CTK) - Nuclear power plant Temelin produces electricity again as of Saturday, but only in the second unit which was shut down on Thursday midnight, Temelin spokesman Marek Svitak has told CTK.

The second unit was disconnected due to repair of the system bringing oil to regulatory valves.

The first unit has been out of operation since end-July when exchange of a quarter of nuclear fuel was started. Its shutdown has been prolonged by some three weeks due to the repair of the turbine's rotor in which one blade broke off.

The power plant's staff are trying to find out why this happened. Producer Skoda Power of Plzen, western Bohemia, is already checking the damaged part. Decision on whether to use a substitute or a repaired rotor
is to be made in the coming days.
