Tuesday, June 24, 2008

There are delays in the projects for the Nuclear Power Plant "Belene" and the power plants in the "Maritsa-East" basin, according to Bulgaria's Minister of Economy and Energy, Petar Dimitrov.

Dimitrov made the above admissions just before the meeting of the National Security Council convened by Bulgaria's President Georgi Parvanov Tuesday to discuss the Bulgaria's participation in major energy projects and their effect on the country's security.

The Economy and Energy Minister is presenting reports about the realization of major energy projects such as "Nabucco", "South Stream" and NPP "Belene".

According to Dimitrov's words nothing scandalous or surprising would come out of the meeting.

Dimitrov also stated that Bulgaria had enough supply of energy resources so that there wouldn't be any scheduled interruptions in the electric power supply even if the upcoming winter happens to be very cold.
