ERF description: Unit N3 is in planned outage. During radiographic tests of welds of the main forced circulation circuit pipelines, located in the separator drums room 804\1, two radiographic operators received doses of 8.32 rem and 9.77 rem respectively. Workers overexpousre was caused by defect of testing device, containing radiation emitter. No radioactive releases and radioactive contamination occurred.
Investigation of the event is in progress.
Justification of Rating: User's Manual - 1992 was used to rate the event. The event is rated with level 2 under on-site impact criterion, as "an event resulting in a dose to a worker exceeding a statutory annual dose limit".
