Reactor trip due to steam generator level low signal

Yonggwang unit 4 was operated at the rated power. At full power operation, maintenance crew had to open 2A breaker to check the function of the inverter 02NN but he opened other breaker, 3/A, which is connected to power supply of main feedwater pump no.2 etc. by confusion. As a result of this wrong action of worker, main feed water pump was tripped by power supply line failure due to 3A breaker open. Reactor power cut-back signal was initiated but actuation relay was de-energized because the power supply of this relay is connected to 3A breaker. At 11:20, May 1996 reactor trip occurred by main feed water pump stop which resulted in S/G low level signal.
There was no release of radioactive materials outside the reactor building and no unplanned exposure to employees.
