ERF description: The unit no. 1 was in planned outage. On June 28, 1996 at 9:15 p.m. a contaminationa of reactor hall floor was detected. Contamination level was below prescribed levels but exceeded control levels. The radioactive contamination occurred during a planned work with contaminated equipment in the reactor hall. The reactor hall floor has been decontaminated on June 29 at 2:30 a.m.
There was no release of radioactive materials to the environment, nor radiation exposure to any personnel.
Off-site and on-site impact criteria are not appropriate for the event rating. The event is rated level 0 under the degradation of defence in depth criterion.
