Overexposure in Excess of Regulatory Limits

A radiographer was exposed to a 1295.0 GBq (35 curie) cobalt-60 source while conducting industrial radiography. The preliminary whole body dose estimate is 0.7 Sv (70 rem). The radiographer has been referred for medical follow-up and cytogenic studies. The regulatory agency has initiated response activities.
