ERF description: On 16-3-91, due to sudden loss of generation in the grid, the system frequency crashed down and caused generator lock out on under frequency. Station lost off-site power. Units 1 & 2 scrammed due to de-energising the safety system relays. Normal recovery actions were taken.
BASIS FOR RATING: Degradation in defence-in-depth. Table A-1R, 0/1, all safety systems/functions were available. Reactor trip proceeded normally. Rating 0.
